The Female Entrepreneur Breaking Ground in Home Services

female entrepreneur becomes newest franchise owner of grounds guys

We are excited to announce the newest owner of The Grounds Guys: Shelly Han. A resident of Washington state, Shelly has always wanted to work for herself – and now, with the help of FranCoach, she has found the perfect business!

Who Is Shelly Han?

For most of her career, Shelly has been working as a software engineer. She holds a master’s degree in computer science, which she has put to good use as a leader in her workplace. However, she knew that she would never be completely fulfilled working for someone else. Shelly decided it was time to invest in her future and left her corporate job behind to pursue business ownership.

Why Did Shelly Make a Career Change?

Initially, Shelly was considering buying an existing business – but when she discovered the possibility of franchise ownership, it was a no-brainer. With the support, training, and structures offered by franchisors, Shelly knew that she would be perfectly positioned to succeed as a franchise owner and have the autonomy to truly chase her dreams.

As she dove into research about franchising, Shelly discovered FranCoach – and she did not hesitate to reach out. Throughout the Discovery Process, Shelly worked with FranCoach’s Lisa Rios to explore a few different franchise options. Shelly was interested in home services from the get-go, and Grounds Guys provided her with the perfect combination of support from the Neighborly corporation and independence.

Why Will Shelly Make a Great Franchise Owner?

Lisa Rios, who guided Shelly through the Discovery and Validation processes, shared her enthusiasm about working with this fearless, female entrepreneur. Here is Lisa’s perspective on why Shelly is sure to succeed:

“Shelly came to us ready to make an investment in her future, and that is exactly what she did. Her attention to detail and her determination truly set her apart. She was thorough and diligent throughout the entire process of working with us at FranCoach, and she was committed to owner validation to ensure she had found the right match. Shelly has put the work in already, and I know she will continue to do so as a successful Grounds Guys owner.”

Why Did Shelly Choose The Grounds Guys?

The Grounds Guys is a lawn care and landscaping brand with strong name recognition in communities across the continent. A Neighborly brand, the company offers strong franchisor support and the opportunity to own a business in a familiar, recession-resistant industry.

With home services on her mind from the beginning, Shelly was interested in Grounds Guys from the moment that Lisa introduced her to the brand. She loved the multiple revenue streams that the company offers its owners, and she is excited to bring this concierge service for the outdoors to her local area. She worked with Neighborly’s Brittany Kruger to learn more about the unique offerings of the brand, and after attending a virtual Meet the Team Day, Shelly was ready to dive into this next chapter of her career.

On International Women’s Day, Shelly signed her Franchise Agreement – a fitting start for this female entrepreneur’s latest exciting venture.

Please join our team at FranCoach in congratulating Shelly Han and wishing her luck as a new owner of The Grounds Guys.
